The Monument | 憾山
The Monument is a truly stunning piece, especially after a few burns when the ornate lid becomes coated in a gradated golden amber from the incense smoke.
The Monument is a contemporary liuli interpretation of the traditional tri-legged Chinese incense burner, its tiered lid shape characteristic of cloisonne censers of the Qing dynasty palace. The three legs and tip of the lid feature mythical Chinese suanni lions, while the body of the lid is adorned by laced leaf patterns derived from lianli zhi – tree branches from two trees intertwined, a traditional symbol of love and unity.
Made from the pate de verre technique. Can be used for both burning incense powder and incense sticks. Comes with a bronze incense powder mold and a bronze stand for incense sticks.
