Red Soil Aloeswood | 红土沉香 「Classic Single Scent」
The famous red soil of Vietnam’s Nha Trang region also produces some of the most desirable aloeswood (also known as agarwood, jinkoh or oud) for Chinese incense. Known literally as red soil aloeswood, the outer color of the un-processed aloeswood takes on the reddish brown color of the soil.
Red soil aloeswood is very rare and expensive, as its aroma is richer and more intense than ordinary Nha Trang aloeswood. Handmade by the same highly respected, second generation Chinese incense craftsman as our Nha Trang Aloeswood, these sticks feature a blend of the two woods, as Red Soil agarwood powder by itself is not easily flammable due to its very high oil content.
The distinct aloeswood smell of these incense sticks has such strength that it fills the room almost immediately – warm and complex like the Nha Trang, but unmistakably more focused, with less sweetness and vanilla in its coolness. Even a quarter of a stick goes a long way.
Due to the very high cost of aloeswood, Red Soil aloeswood is only available in stick form. These are also slightly thinner than other incense sticks in our Premium Collection.
